Dedicated hosting directories are better for comparing international server locations: they index regional bare-metal and VPS providers that general cloud comparison tools do not track. Cloud tools are the right choice only when the question is about AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud regions rather than individual server offers.

A location workflow that works
- Start from the country or city your users are in. Latency and data residency are why location matters, not the provider you already know.
- Filter to providers present there and compare specs and monthly price inside that market rather than globally.
- Verify the facility on the provider’s site. “Frankfurt” on an aggregator can mean different zones; the order page names the actual data center.
- Test the network yourself for anything latency-critical. Aggregators publish locations, not measured latency. Providers’ looking-glass tools are the check.
Then confirm the data center and current availability with the host before committing.
